Purpose of the Gegaderung (Discussion Forum)

This Gegaderung (Discussion Forum) is intended exclusively for use by members of Ða Engliscan Gesiðas (The English Companions). Non-members will be able to read the Gegaderung (Discussion Forum) but will not be able to participate in the ensuing discussions, or contribute to, or comment on, or amend or delete its contents.
The Gegaderung (Discussion Forum) is a means of enabling discussion and dissemination of information concerning any aspects of the history, language and culture of Early Anglo-Saxon England AD450-1100. This includes all aspects of the foundations and growth of English culture, including language and literature, archaeology, anthropology, architecture, art, religion, mythology, folklore and material culture. Discussions may include subjects of interest raised in lectures, talks, exhibitions, living history groups, research projects and subjects raised in the educational world, as well as those raised in the press, television, radio and the internet.
The Gegaderung (Discussion Forum) may contain links to other web sites and files. Ða Engliscan Gesiðas (The English Companions) has no control over their content and consequently cannot be held responsible for any material which may be perceived as, or may indeed be considered as, offensive or objectionable.
Role of the Administrators of the Gegaderung (Discussion Group)

The Administrators are authorized to remove, amend or delete any data submitted on this forum which they consider contravenes or implies contravention of the aims and the objectives of Ða Engliscan Gesiðas (The English Companions), or compromises the Ða Engliscan Gesiðas (The English Companions) strictly neutral line on modern political and religious matters.
The Administrators will remove any topics which foster or promote racism or religious intolerance and the offending individual will have their membership of the Gegaderung (Discussion Forum) revoked.
The Administrators will remove links to material considered inappropriate.
Neither the Administrators nor Ða Engliscan Gesiðas (The English Companions) are responsible for the privacy practices of any member of the Gegaderung (Discussion Forum). All information disclosed becomes public information and caution should be exercised when members decide to share any of their personal information.
The decisions of the Administrators in respect of the Gegaderung (Discussion Forum) are final.
Any questions or concerns about the Gegaderung (Discussion Forum) or its content must be directed first of all by email to the Administrators.
How To Join the Gegaderung (Discussion Forum) - Registration

Gesiðas wishing to join the Gegaderung (Discussion Forum) details of their name, email address to be used, their Ða Engliscan Gesiðas (The English Companions) membership number in the following registration form so that their current membership details can be verified. They should also propose a user name and password they wish to use which will be adapted by the Administrators to enable the gesið to participate in the Gegaderung (Discussion Forum).
Once these actions have been completed they will receive a confirmation email from the forum with an activation link that they must click to confirm joining. Administrators will also be informed of the new membership and will confirm that their Membership Number is active. As soon as gesiðas confirm they wish to join (and if their Membership Number is correct) they will be able to participate in the Gegaderung (Discussion Forum). (Note: each time gesiðas log on they will have to use their unique password.)
Acceptance of the Gegaderung Rules
