Are there any hard records of Germanics in the invasion army, either directly or indirectly e.g. Franks?

If memory serves there were some Flemings and a few German knights.  But I can't seem to lay hand on any "hard records" to that effect.

There certainly used to be a community of Saxons around Bayeux itself, one whose king the Normans came to believe helped conquer Normany for them.  Yet again I can't say what the source was, only that I don't think they made it to 1066 as a self-identifying group.
