Sunday 7 July – Dalbyology – The Visitor Centre, Dalby Forest, Pickering, YO18 7LT – 10.30 am to 4 pm

The English Companions will be having a stall at the annual festival of -ologies at Dalby Forest in North Yorkshire. This popular event has been running for many years and has participants from a large range of local interest groups including astonomy, falconry, sea life, plant life, butterflies, geology and history.

This year the theme is “Lifespans” and we will be there to talk about the continuing influence of Old English on our modern language, as well as the Anglo-Saxon understanding of time and history. We’ll also provide a chance to make your own bookmark using runes and Anglo-Saxon decorations.
