When at Battle someone told me about podcasts on the history of English. This is the link
http://historyofenglishpodcast.com/episodes/
It has 101 episodes but I have only listened to the first two. These agree with I have written in my first two articles on the subject in horsmūð so the podcasts must be good.

I love these - I have been listening on and off although only occasionally.
I really must get down to working through them more systematically!

Phyllis, I am disappointed. You have known about this site for some time and never told us.
I have just listened to episode 3 and it continues to be top class.
-
I know (although have linked to it on the Facebook page...)
I assumed everyone already knew - I rarely find anything that at least 90% of the membership hadn't already studied extensively
Bad Phyllis! Bad!

Sorry, just me poking my head up after months offline.
I have been listening to these for a couple of years now. I thought everyone else already knew. The presenter Kevin Stroud eventually corrects his initial error in saying that eth and thorn had different phonemes as they do in Icelandic, whereas we know they were interchangeable in OE.

Ӕðeling,
Not you as well. The idea of ġegaderung is to tell us about these things.

I feel reprieved!
;D
