Companions’ Events in 2024

As we mentioned in our previous post, the Companions enjoyed anther great day on Sunday 4th August at the North Yorks Moors Visitor Centre at Sutton Bank.
You can still come along to meet us at the Stamford Bridge Heritage Day when we commemorate the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066 and the associated events of that fateful year. We will also be providing a stall to support the Battle of Old Byland event back at Sutton Bank.
We hope to meet as many visitors as possible to chat about Anglo-Saxon history, language and culture:
- Battle of Stamford Bridge Commemoration Event, Stamford Bridge, East Yorkshire, 28 September
- Battle of Old Byland Event, Sutton Bank Visitor Centre, North York Moors, 13 October
- Battle of Hastings Wreath Laying, Hastings, October, details TBC
- Harold Festival, Waltham Abbey, October, details TBC
Members will also have the chance to join in Zoom socials or visits arranged by their local groups, as well as attend our annual Feast on 14 September. More details of all such events can be found in Wiðowinde or via the Zoom group mailing list.
